Omen, just like most Controllers in the game has two smokes to help his team setup for site executes and to reinforce defenses. However, his kit is designed to make him both a solo and team player. That is why, being aggressive and making brain-dead plays might just be the key to making Omen a success. However, it will not work most of the time.

As an Omen player, you should not be afraid to take risks, challenge angles and make braindead TPs. Most of the euphoric plays will come through these risks since opponents won’t expect you to make them. To make those plays, you will need to understand his abilities.

C Ability: Shrouded Step

The Shrouded Step is Omen’s cream of the crop. With this ability, you can teleport to the marked location. Combined with the Paranoia, your enemies will be “blind and dead.” Use this ability to get on top of boxes, ledges and set up off angle fights. You can also use this ability to teleport into your own smokes on sites to take control and help your team take a sight.

Remember, this is not just a teleport ability, it is a tool to gather information and take space if you know how to.

The Paranoia ability covers a huge distance and it near sights everyone it hits which means that players won’t be able to see what’s ahead of them. Beware, if the Paranoia hits someone and they’re close to you, they’ll be able to shoot you. Ensure that you use this ability after you gather information about your enemy’s lcoation.

In addition to that, this ability works the best during site executes where you blind a particular choke point where you know the enemy might be playing. Co-ordinate with your Duelists and send out the Paranoia to help them take sites and pick up easy kills.

E Ability: Dark Cover

Omen’s signature ability is his Dark Cover aka his smokes. These dark bubbles will encompass choke points and ensure that the enemies stop dead in their tracks. With this ability, you can learn one ways which block the enemy’s line of sight and ensure that you maintain control of a particular area. If you are feeling aggressive, you can Shrouded Step into your own smoke to get space during attack rounds.

Omen smokes last for 15 seconds so ensure that you know how much risk you are taking by teleporting into them.

X Ability: From The Shadows

Ome’s Ultimate ability. From The Shadows can effectively turn the tide of the battle if you know what you are doing with it. There are many things you can try with this. Switch sites with the spike, grab it from the enemy’s grasp, and even teleport behind the enemy’s lines to take cause some chaos and confuse the enemies.

And if that is not enough, the enemies might even think you teleport is a fake because they’ll never be able to tell. Omen’s Ultimate ability in the hands of a player with good game sense is lethal.

How To Play Omen On Attack

On the attacker side, Omen’s abilities can help a lot with taking sites and getting kills. However, those tactics will only be successful if you have someone covering you while you are preparing your abilities. The best thing you can do for your team is to make plays according to the requirement and the need. If you are a man down, it will be good to play slow and save your Paranoia for enemy retakes or entering the site.

Learn one-ways. One ways are essential in blocking off enemy movement and they can also prevent retakes from enemies. In addition, use your smokes in unusual spots. Default smokes on site and in heaven can easily be taken advantage of by Duelists who can peak, get a kill and get out free without consequences. Communicate with your team when using the Paranoia so that you can set them up for success.

Most times, you can also use your smokes and teleport in them to get on top of the site to catch your enemies off guard by your position. Do not take first contact unless absolutely necessary and lurk when you can since you can always get out with your Ultimate ability.

How To Play Omen On Defense

Omen on defense is quite standard. Smoke the entry points on site so that the enemies do not get through and the like. However, do not shy away from being aggressive and taking advantage of your ability to teleport on top of several off angles. If you get an off angle on a high ledge or a box, the enemies will not expect it which can mean an easy kill for you.

In addition, if you are getting overwhelmed on site, do not always stick around. Fall back and try to retake with your teammates by using the Paranoia and smoking off spots where the enemies might try to play the post plant.

Omen is quite a simple Controller to learn because he relies on the player’s aggressiveness and game sense to be good. He is quite easy to learn and should be a priority for beginners since his smokes are easy to control and there are lineups to learn unlike other Controllers like Brimstone or Viper.
