Breach is one of the most useful Agents to play on Lotus and one of the reasons is because his utility can massively help the team win fights and delay the opponents from planting or defusing the spike. Professional Valorant has seen an influx of Breach usage and rightly so. Even though there is a massive percentage of the community calling his stuns a ‘cosmetic stun,’ there is a lot of use for Breach just because of his ability to cause chaos and panic among players.
Lotus is a map that is made for Breach because you can do a lot of things from assisting Duelists in the opening engagements to delaying, faking and distracting. Let us take a look at how to play Breach on Lotus in Valorant, properly.
How To Play Breach On Lotus In Valorant: Attack And Defense Side Breakdown
Breach is the kind of Agent that works best when the team communication is smooth. That is why, the best thing to do for Breach players is to not solo queue and find players they can work together with so they can take advantage of his utility.
Having said that, Breach’s primary function is to step enemies in their tracks and lay them motionless so you can take/retake space and get the drop on your enemies. Since his abilities have a decent amount of wind-up, most of the time, you will find yourself having more assists than kills. The sign of a good Breach player is having more assists than kills which would indicate you are setting your team up for success.
Note: We won’t be looking at Breach stun line-ups because that you can learn better from pro player videos and other guides, we will just look at the basic function of Breach and how you can play him on Lotus.
How To Play Breach On Lotus Attack Side?
Lotus is a three bomb site map which makes Breach an essential pick for Attack. His utility can help you take space and stop enemies from retaking. However, you must be careful to not dump all your utility while taking sites so that you can save some of them for retakes. That being said, let us break down how you can take each side of the map using Breach.
Lotus A Side Attack
Your job as Breach on the attacker side of A is to help your team clear tight corners. If the attackers are aggressive on A site, then you should start with flashing out onto A Rubble. From there, you should clear the Rotating Door or A Stairs with your stuns to make your way onto A Site.
Once you have access to Tree, you can also use the Rolling Thunder to clear out the whole side should you have your Ultimate ready. Flash for your Duelists when entering Tree so that they have an easy time taking space.
Lotus B Side Attack
The B side attack is simple. The first thing you need to do is clear the box in lobby with your Aftershock. Once you do, it would be useful to flash the site and stun Heaven or A Link.
You can also stun the breakable door area if you expect attackers. Taking the breakable door area should also be priority because it is a huge choke point and your attack will crumble if any enemy has access to it.
Lotus C Side Attack
C side is definitely the hardest bomb site to execute but also the safest when it comes to post plants. Once you get control of C Mound by using your flashes, it is a good idea to Aftershock the double boxes on site and push a Fault line onto the Waterfall area. Use the below image for reference.
Once that is done, you are free to take control of site and plant wherever. Fortify the site and help your team take control of the CT spawn if it permits. Ensure that you still have control of Mound and Rotating Doors because you could get boxed in by the defense if you lose control there.
How To Play Breach On Lotus Defense Side?
Breach can be a menace on the defense side if played well. There is a ton of delay that comes with Breach’s kit and to make the most of it, you need to be posted up in areas that can help your team the most. For example, play with your Controllers and Duelists. A Breach and Viper combo on C can make the site impenetrable while Breach’s Fault Line can be pivotal for retakes in A or B site.
Lotus A Side Defense
It is important for you to start off the A Defense side by using the Fault Line from A Stairs onto A Lobby so that the enemies do not get access to A Mound. This will allow your Duelists, the Jett or Raze or any other one to move forward and get control of Rubble. With this, you can now move back and help out your other teammates.
For retake, you can always use the the Rolling Thunder from A Stairs to get the whole of A site for a comfortable retake. Of course, feel free to change the positioning based on where the enemies are to get more of Tree and less of backsite.
Lotus B Side Defense
An Aftershock towards B Lobby should easily slow down the stragglers towards the B Site. However, even if you lose control of the site, you can easily throw a Fault Line from the Breakable Door area and see if it catches any players so that your teammates can either peak from Heaven or Link to eliminate them.
Aside from that, if you have a Rolling Thunder, you can easily use it from C Gravel to retake B. The choice is yours depending on the situation.
Lotus C Side Defense
There aren’t many things you can do as Breach on C Site but if you want initial control of C Mound, the Fault Line will be key. From the Waterfall Area, you can throw a Fault line onto the Mound which is going to be key to maintain control.
If you lose control of the site, a Rolling Thunder from CT spawn or the same Waterfall area will be the best option for you.
The Verdict
Breach is only successful if you have enough team co-ordination on Lotus. Your teammates should communicate what they want from you to the the most out of this Agent otherwise the pick will not be as useful as you’d like.
