best agents for abyss in valorant

Abyss is one of the newest maps in Valorant and with it, comes newer more meta comps. With Valorant Champions 2024 over, we saw some really solid comps played by teams like Team Heretics, EDward Gaming, DRX and many more.

That being said, due to the margin of error in terms of falling off the map, there are certain Agents you must run to take advantage of the unusal structure of Abyss. Here are the best Agents for Abyss in Valorant you can play.

The Best Agents For Abyss In Valorant

There are five Agents you will always profit on while running a standard competitive team composition on Abyss. The best part about the map is it’s post plant capability. Both of the bomb sites have a lot of potential for the attackers to rack up rounds. That is why, prioritizing an attack based composition would be the key to dominating Abyss.

The recent world Champions, EDward Gaming ran a Sova, Astra, Kayo, Jett and Omen composition which you can copy. However, the absence of a Sentinel can cause a problem. That being said, here are the Agents you’ll profit with while playing Abyss.

Note: This is a not a set composition we are giving you, these are Agents you will benefit having in your team on this particular map.

Jett

Ever since the inception of Valorant, Jett has been one of the most sought after Duelists who still manages to dominate the competitive space in spite the nerfs. Running Jett on Abyss should be a priority since she is much easier to control than Neon or Raze. There is a lot of volatility on the edges of the map and Neon or Raze can easily fall off if not controlled properly.

Jett’s Drift ability allows her to maneuver in air so that you can’t instantly fall off the map or just try to maneuver yourself onto ledges or boxes which gives you another chance. With Jett’s explosive entry capabilities, taking space and winning rounds would be quite easy.

Gekko

Gekko is one of the best Agents to play on Abyss due to his delay utilities. Thrash, Moshpit, Wingman and Dizzy are really good abilities to not only help take space but also prevent enemies from defusing or planting the spike. Gekko’s kit is tailor-made to support Duelists like Jett so that she can enter the site quickly and take advantage of the enemies who have been made dizzy using Gekko’s abilities.

The most useful Gekko will be is for his Wingman ability. It can travel far to plant the spike so the team won’t even need to enter the site and throw away their lives. A good alternative for Gekko would be Sova for his recon abilities.

Omen

Omen is one of the best Controllers in Valorant due to his kit. He can be aggressive as much as the Duelists and still manage to get away with his life with his teleporting capabilities. Omen’s smokes offer safe cover to either enter site, make one ways or prevent enemies from getting past the choke point.

A lot of Duelist players have transitioned to Omen because there is not much team-cordination required in playing him except while using the Paranoia. In addition, his Ultimate ability can help you get the stranded spike from anywhere and teleport to another bombsite with it should everything fail.

Omen is your ultimate get out of jail Controller since there is a lot of room to make cheeky and unexpected plays with him.

Astra

Valorant players saw a huge comeback for Astra this year due to the release of Abyss. With the inclusion of the 9.5 Patch which will be out quite soon, Astra will have all five stars back which will allow her to go back to her original state when she was overpowered as a controller.

The reason why Astra thrives on Abyss is because of her ability to delay the enemies and prevent them from defusing the spike. Aside from that, her smokes, pull backs and stuns can help you co-ordinate plays with your team and help them take a site just as easily. Astra smokes combined with a Wingman plant can easily be the key to securing Spike explosions on this map.

Killjoy

Killjoy’s ability to delay and chip damage the enemy is quite useful in the game and that is why she is one of the go-to Sentinels to play on any map. Abyss is a large map and a powerful Killjoy setup can ensure that you maintain control and gather information on one side completely. Her Turret can help with information gathering and chip damage while the Nano swarm Grenades can chip out the enemies entering choke points.

The Alarmbot should be placed on flanks where the Killjoy can be caught off guard and taken out by enemies while she’s playing on site. With a little bit of help, Killjoy can easily lock down a site and prevent attackers from taking the space.

These are some of the best Agents to play on Abyss. If you want more Valorant content like this, stay tuned to IBV Gaming.
