Seriously? People are still wondering how to save in Borderlands 3 in 2024? Well my young vault hunter, you’ve come to the right place. Saving might not be as obvious as the other Borderlands games but 2K has done a great job of simplifying the process. Let’s look at what we mean.

How To Save In Borderlands 3?

The thing is, you don’t need to! The game autosaves anything and everything that you do so no matter what you are doing, from mowing over skags with your vehicle or going to a different city, the game autosaves your progress on every turn. However, if you are still unsure of anything and don’t trust our answer yet (which is rude), you can go and check out for yourself.

Log into the game and do anything, participate in a fight or transfer from one fast travel point to another. Then open the pause menu and select Quit Game. When you do, you will see the current Vault Hunter you are playing as alongside the percentage of progress you have made along with them.

Now, saving can be a tad bit different when you are in a fight of course. If you had to go do groceries for mum or get a stern talking to from dad while in a fight and you had to quit, you won’t get the same progress but you will load a little further back. Rest assured, you will not lose ALL of your fight progress.

Why Every Game Should Have A Save System Like Borderlands 3

Borderlands 3’s auto save system works like a charm. You do anything major and it saves. In comparison to games which require manual saving, Borderlands 3 can save up to hours worth of backtracking should anything major go down from a power outage to your cat accidentally turning off your system.

Autosaving in games is important because you don’t want to spend time doing the stuff that you already did because you accidentally forgot to hit save when you quit the game. We know that initially, for most of you, Borderlands 3’s save mechanics might be confusing but once you get into it, players are much more comfortable with auto save features. Although, manual saves have their own value in terms of replayability.

If someone wants to play a particular part of the game, then manual saves can be a huge mechanic. For example, God of War: Ghost Of Sparta’s brothel scene,’ nuff said.
