A pickaxe is the most basic tool you will need to kickstart your journey in Minecraft. It is the most used tool in the game and there will be tons of variations you will use for it when you advance further into the game. Let’s look at how to make a pickaxe in Minecraft PC.

How To Make A Pickaxe In Minecraft PC

To make a pickaxe, you will need two simple ingredients, a crafting table and some wood. If you do not know how to make a crafting table, you can check out a simple tutorial here. You can find wood almost anywhere in the game so go over to a tree and attack it with your fists. Once you do and it breaks, collect the wooden blocks. We will use these blocks to create planks > sticks and then eventually, a pickaxe.

Now, here’s the breakdown:

• Open the crafting GUI, you can find it in the inventory menu.
• Place the collected wooden blocks on any square to craft planks.
• Now, place two blocks of wooden planks on top of each other, on either the left or right side of the crafting GUI.
• Now, you will have sticks. Now, go to your nearest crafting table and interact with it to open the crafting menu.

• Place one wooden plank on each block of the first row. Now, place two sticks in the middle column, below the middle wooden plank. It will look like the image above.

Following all these steps in order will give you the pickaxe which is one of the most effective tools in the game. The main purpose of the pickaxes is to break up rocks or the ground faster. Aside from the wooden pickaxes, there are variety of different ones you can make that are quite more durable and will last longer.
